About EAOP
Since 1976, EAOP initiatives at the University of California, San Diego have been in place to increase the pool of students successfully completing college preparatory coursework and enrolling at four-year postsecondary institutions, pursuing graduate and professional school opportunities, and achieving success in the workplace.
To achieve this goal, EAOP works with K-12 students, their parents, school representatives, and community members to design, implement and evaluate programs and services that foster students' academic development to make them admissible to the post-secondary institution of their choice (UC, CSU, and CCC).
EAOP has pursued this mission through informational, motivational and academic preparation activities.
UC San Diego’s program currently serves more than 4,000 students at 20 schools and community sites in San Diego and Imperial Counties, with offices at UC San Diego and a satellite office in the Imperial Valley.
EAOP at UC San Diego is one of ten such EAOP programs administered system-wide by the UC Office of the President. It is one of three primary student initiatives comprising the SAPEP portfolio and tackles key development areas for students preparing for college. EAOP programs represent the largest student-centered initiative in the state.
EAOP understands and is committed to its fundamental role in information dissemination, academic preparation, and creating a college-going culture in its students.
