Career Pathways Program (CPP)
This FREE program is available for all San Diego and Imperial County high school students looking for support exploring and planning their career trajectory. Enrollment is ongoing. The sooner you sign-up, the sooner we can support you in your journey!
The Fall 24 program started September 1, 2024 and goes through November 30, 2024. Each cycle provides new opportunities for prizes, certificates, and opportunity drawings. After you register, you will have the opportunity to join our program Discord channel and/or our weekly newsletter. CPP's full services will be available during cycles. Off cycle periods may offer reduced programming.

Program Goal
To prepare the diverse and inclusive workforce of the future through early exposure, knowledge attainment, and enrichment activities that will develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for their particular career path.
Program Requirements
- High School student of at least 13 years of age
- Enrolled in a San Diego or Imperial County High School

"Choosing a Career" Events
Join us for our "Choosing a Career" Events. Open to all high school students in San Diego and Imperial Counties. Students with all levels of interest are encouraged to attend.
Priority will be given to enrolled CPP students and then opened up to the broader community. Additional spots will be administered on a first-come-first-serve basis.
We will be providing charter busses out of the following school sites and respective times for all our events:

Program Benefits
- Students will be able to receive industry specific pathway certificates for curriculum completion that can be highlighted in their postsecondary application material.
- Students will also be able to enter opportunity drawings for scholarships, swag, and even theme park tickets if they complete certain amounts of program curriculum
- Students will get exposure to industry experts, business leaders, local and international industry support services, UC San Diego programs, scholarships, summer programs, internships, and academic advising services that prepare your students for careers in their interested industries
- Students will build community with other students through our Discord channel and other program activities
- Students will have an opportunity to visit UC San Diego and explore industry majors, engage with diverse faculty, and meet students to help connect them to resources, share their experience, and inspire them to achieve their career aspirations

EAOP Waiver for Participation in Services
Waiver: In return for being permitted to participate in the following activity or program (“The Activity”), including any associated use of the premises, facilities, staff, equipment, transportation, and services of the University, I, for myself, heirs, personal representatives, and assigns, do hereby release, waive, discharge, and promise not to sue The Regents of the University of California, its directors, officers, employees, and agents (“The University”), from liability from any and all claims, including the negligence of The University, resulting in personal injury (including death), accidents or illnesses including the acquisition of or exposure to any infectious disease, or property loss, in connection with my participation in the Activity and any use of University premises and facilities.
Media Release: As part of the following activity or program (“The Activity”), I, for myself, heirs, personal representatives, and assigns, hereby grant the Early Academic Outreach Program and their agents, absolute right and permission to use photographic portraits, pictures, digital images or videotapes for any lawful purpose whatsoever, including but not limited to use in any publication or on websites, without payment or any other consideration.
Description of Activity or Program: Date(s): The "CREATE Career Pathways Program" is a FREE ONLINE program with limited in-person event opportunities.
Assumption of Risks: Participation in The Activity carries with it certain inherent risks that cannot be eliminated regardless of the care taken to avoid injury. The specific risks vary from one activity to another, but the risks range from 1) minor injuries such as scratches, bruises, and sprains, to 2) major injuries such as eye injury, joint or bone injuries, heart attacks, and concussions, to 3) the acquisition of or exposure to infectious disease, to 4) catastrophic injuries such as paralysis and death.
Indemnification and Hold Harmless: I also agree to indemnify and hold The University harmless from any and all claims, actions, suits, procedures, costs, expenses, damages and liabilities, including attorney’s fees, arising out of my involvement in The Activity, and to reimburse it for any such expenses incurred.
Severability: I further agree that this Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by law, and that if any portion is held invalid the remaining portions will continue to have full legal force and effect.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction: This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, and any disputes arising out of or in connection with this Agreement shall be under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the State of California.
NO WARRANTY. UNIVERSITY MAKES NO WARRANTY WITH RESPECT TO THE SAFETY OF THE PREMISES WITH REGARD TO ANY INFECTIOUS DISEASE.
Acknowledgment of Understanding: I have read this Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement, fully understand its terms, and understand that I am giving up substantial rights, including my right to sue. I confirm that I am signing the agreement freely and voluntarily, and intend my signature to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law.
